Disdain Beauty

Superficiality lies within
Hiding all imperfections
Though offering no guidance
A little 'woo' every now and then
For the mind is covered with sin
Only wanting this pretentious stimulation
The true heart knows no false feelings
It cannot be fooled by blush
Nor by charm
It shows remorse, true bliss
A true heart uncovers whats underneath
Never questioning the contrary
But utter sadness sets in
When the heart knows
The only one it loves
Can only find bliss
Through the wicked mess
Of material goods
And false pretenses of character
With the only wealth and look acquired
Of a disdain type of
Beauty

January 12, 2007 at 4:44 PMYou know now that I think about it, it kind of is sad lol. Oh well. Its powerful (I think). Glad it affected one of your emotions (bringing out sadness) if a poem does not invoke some sort of emotion then it is not really poetry.
